Hedge Fund Success Converted to Alternative Energy Investment

Sam Tabar is a name that many New York attorneys on Lawyerist may recognize, especially those familiar with hedge funds and the formation of hedge funds. He began his career as an honors graduate from Oxford University followed by a law degree from the prestigious Columbia University. After completing his education Tabar joined the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slater, Meagher & Flom LLP in 2001. During his career Sam has had remarkable success not only in the area of hedge fund formation and structure but also with investment management agreements, private placement memoranda, side letters, employment issues, and regulatory and compliance issues. Tabar spent three successful years with the firm Skadden, Arps, Slater, Meagher & Flom LLP and then moved to Hong Kong were he became an investment counselor for PMA Investment Advisors. During just a short time with PMA Tabar was promoted to managing director. As managing director he continued on his path of success by bringing many valuable investors to the company and aiding the firm in creating over a billion dollars in assets.

In 2011 LinkedIn shows Sam Tabar took some time off from practicing law and began working for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Tabar’s time as an investment counselor was just as lucrative and rewarding as his time practicing law. Tabar was in placed in charge of overseeing budget strategy for financial institutions. After only a brief time at Merrill Lynch he was named Head of Capital Strategy. His time at Merrill Lynch proved to be prosperous for both him and the company. When Tabar left the company in 2012 he left them with many successful business development strategies and an impressive list of clients, future clients, and investors.

In 2013 Tabar decided to make a return to practicing law and joined the firm Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. During his time at Schulte Roth & Zabel, Tabar served as a senior associate specializing once again in hedge funds. He also provided counsel in his other areas of proficiency that included fund formation and structure, investment management agreements, private placement memoranda, side letters, employment issues, and regulatory and compliance issues. In March of 2014 Sam Tabar left his position as Senior Associate at Schlute Roth & Zabel.

In a recent press release this past December Sam Tabar was named Chief Operating Officer for FullCycle Energy Fund. Full Cycle Energy Fund was founded in 2013 and was created to help finance projects that can help convert waste into relevant fuel and be used to provide power to our country and other counties around the world. Tabar will be responsible for the companies fund management strategy.
