Securus Technologies Is On A PR Mission

No one likes to pay for services that were not properly rendered. Consumers have a tendency to complain loudly on a number of online and offline venues about such practices. Prison inmates, unfortunately, do not always have reliable venues in which they can vent their concerns or frustrations. Securus Technologies of Dallas, TX is stepping forward to become a voice for these inmates. In many ways, the management of Securus Technologies owes inmates and their families a sense of gratitude. The company provides apps and other programs to help inmates communicate with relatives and others.

Richard A. Smith, the CEO of Securus Technologies, issued a statement in a press release about how the company will engage in a public relations campaign to help cast light on wrongdoing in the industry. A series of additional press releases will be forthcoming in the months ahead. Global Tel Link, another company that serves the industry, is slated to be the subject of these documents.

The initial report notes accusations from 1998 in Louisiana regarding GTL’s “artificial charges” to customers. Essentially, time was added to calls and this drove up the billing.

Securus Technologies is going to take steps to inform the public about these types of actions by GTL.
